There will be some violence between COPE and the ANC members. I think COPE will serious chew into the ANC majority. The ANC will still win with a lesser majority. There may be one or two provinces who may may marginal cases. The Western Cape is a certainty for the DA or a DA/COPE/ID coalition. I will probably vote DA in both ballots, but am still waiting the the COPE manifesto before finally deciding.

though the anc will win, i hope they win by a very small percentage, like 52% so they'll need to work hard on things like corruption and service delivery, i'll be voting for the DA in the provinciall election and for cope in the national one, i live in the western cape and the DA will do a far better job in the western cape than nationally, and cope has a better chance of getting enough votes nationally to put pressure on the ANC to govern properlly, but it does seem like they are trying to do the right things now that mbeki is no longer in power.

I doubt that COPE is going to seriously challenge the ANC's actual dominance... however, with a bit of luck, the ANC might overreact (as they usually do) and hand COPE the moral high-ground (something the ANC will never recover from). However, these two doesn't interest me... they are filled to the brim with overrated yo-yo's that will always be tainted by liberation politics and the incompetence it's so rightfully associated with. What does interest me is if Helen Zille will be able to use this fight to the advantage of the DA, or if she's just going to turn the DA into a sideshow heckling party again like Tony Leon did. By far, she is the most interesting person in South African politics these days.

Overall a reduced majority for the ANC.

In some provinces (WC & NC) there is a possiblity of DA, COPE, and perhaps ID and others forming coalitions and ousting the ANC.

I will be voting DA.

I believe that the Western Cape will almost certainly be won by the DA. The other provinces will all still be won by the ANC, the may possibly be a challenge for the Northern Cape. Overall the ANC will still win but it's majority will have been significantly lowered.
